190 suspected militants detained in Parwan, Kapisa

CHARIKARinfo-icon (Pajhwok): At least 190 individuals with alleged links to terrorists have been arrested in central Parwan and Kapisa provinces, officials said on Thursday.

The National Directorate of Security (NDSinfo-icon) official said 150 people traveling on bus were detained in the Haft Noor locality of Salang district.

The detainees were the residents of southeastern parts of the country. Apparently, they traveling to northern provinces in search of work. Investigations are underway.

In Kapisa, security officials detained 40 suspects in the Gulbahar area of Hisa-i-Awal district. Police chief Brig. Gen. Abdul Karim Faiq said the detainees were suspected of going to the north for insurgent activities.

He said the arrested men were traveling in a truck and hid themselves form security officials. According to Faiq, the individuals had been transferred to the NDS office for investigations.
