Afghanistan’s highest civilian award conferred on Indian PM

HERAT CITY (Pajhwok); President Ashraf Ghani on Saturday conferred Afghanistaninfo-icon's highest civilian honour, the Amir Amanullah Khan Award, on Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Modi was decorated after the two leaders jointly inaugurated the Afghan-India Friendship Dam, previously known as Salma Dam.

Vikas Swarup, spokesperson for India’s Externalinfo-icon Affairs Ministry, tweeted: "A true brotherhood honoured. PM is awarded with the Amir Amanullah Khan Award, Afghanistan's highest civilian honour."
