Haqqani commander killed in Paktika drone strike

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): A dreaded commander of the Haqqani networkinfo-icon has been killed in a US drone strike in southeastern Paktika province, the governor’s office said on Thursday.

The commander, identified as Sirajuddin Khademi, was a logistics leader of the militant group and member of the Quetta Shurainfo-icon. Khademi allegedly provided weapons for insurgents, a statement from the governor’s office said.

It added the drone raid took place in Sar Rawza district and some weapons were also destroyed in the strike.

On May 22, Afghan Talibaninfo-icon supreme leader Mullahinfo-icon Akhtar Mansour was killed in a US drone strike in the Naushki district of Pakistaninfo-icon’s southwestern Balochistan province.
