India to provide 120,000 tonnes of wheat to Afghanistan

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): India will provide in aid 120,000 tonnes of wheat to Afghanistaninfo-icon, the Afghan Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.

The assistance was pledged by Indian ambassador in Kabul Manpreet Vohra during a meeting with Afghan Foreign Minister Salahuddin Rabbani, the ministry said in a statement.

According to the envoy, it would be responsibility of the Afghan government to shift the wheat to Afghanistan and hoped the Afghan government would search for a shortest and easiest route to bring the wheat home.

Rabbani thanked India for its cooperation with Afghanistan during the past few years and mentioned big schemes India had completed in Afghanistan.

He said through the projects India had proved its honesty and cooperation towards Afghanistan’s economic development.
