Suicide bombing thwarted in Paktika’s Urgon town

SHARAN (Pajhwok): Police and intelligence officials foiled a possible suicide bombing in Urgon district of southeastern Paktika province on Tuesday, an official said.

Police chief Khalilullah Ziae told Pajhwok Afghan News security officials captured a suicide bomber in a car at around 10:00am in the main bazaar of the district centre.

A suicide vest was also recovered from the alleged bomber who was being interrogated by police, he said.

Sharif Khan, a resident of the locality, said police arrested a suicide bomber with a car in the district before noon.

Around 200 people were killed and wounded in a suicide bombing in Urgon last year in the month of Ramadaninfo-icon.
