SHARANA (Pajhwok): Five members of a family were killed in a roof collapse incident in the Sar Hawza district of southeastern Paktika province, the district’s administrative chief said on Sunday.

Obaidullah Sararozawal told Pajhwok Afghan News the incident took place last night at the house of Nimatullah. He said the dead included Nimatullah, his wife and three children, including two daughters and a son.

He said the children were aged between two and seven years old.  The media office at the governor’s house also confirmed the incident, but provided no details.

Separately, seven Talibaninfo-icon militants were killed in a blast caused by their own bomb in the Kherkot district of the province.

Coordination office head at the Paktika police headquarters, Dadullah Khan, told Pajhwok Afghan News the blast happened in Tortot area where the rebels were making bombs.

The Taliban have said nothing about the blast.

Four days ago, Taliban militants reportedly gunned down four guests at a wedding party in the Sar Hawza district.
