KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): Afghanistaninfo-icon would host cricket matches with Bangladesh in near future, a board official said on Friday --two days ahead of a third One-Day International (ODI) between the two sides.

A decision on arranging more matches came at a meeting between Afghanistan Cricket Board’s chief executive with his Bangladeshi counterpart in Dhaka on Thursday.

Afghanistan Cricket Board spokesman Farid Hotak told Pajhwok Afghan News the two sides shared plans for future engagements. Dates for Bangladesh’s upcoming tour of Afghanistan, meanwhile, are being firmed up.

Apartment from future cooperation, the officials also conferred on the October meeting of the International Cricket Council (ICC). The meeting will discuss a proposal from Associates.

Bangladesh supported the proposal for Tests matches among 12 nations and ODI encounters among 13 international squads, the ACB spokesman said.

The participation of Afghan cricketers in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) also came up for discussion. Up to five Afghans may be allowed to take part in the event.

The third ODI between Afghanistan and Bangladesh will be played in Mirpur on October 1. The three-match series is drawn 1-1.
