2 school buildings completed in Samangan

AIBAK (Pajhwok): Construction work on buildings for two schools has been completed in Khuram Sarbagh district of northwestern Samangan province, an official said Sunday.

Khuram Sarbagh district chief, Qari Ebadullah Mujahid, told Pajhwok Afghan News the structures cost more than 3.5 million afghanis.

The new building of Sayed Jamaluddin Afghan High School located in the district center has 24 classrooms, eight administrative rooms and other needed facilities, he said.

The building for the boys school took one year to complete, he said, adding the second building was constructed for Girls Secondary School in Baba Qambar village. The new building has eight classrooms and administrative section.

Khuram Sarbagh district educationinfo-icon manager, Mohammad Qasim Khuram, said students of both the schools previously studied in tents.

He said 360 girls and 512 boys would now continue their education in better environmentinfo-icon. More than 10,000 students including boys and girls are studying in 30 schools in the district.

Sarbagh said seven of the 30 schools were without buildings and their students attended classes in tents.
