KANDAHAR CITY (Pajhwok): Two militants have been killed and six people, including children and an Afghan National Army (ANA) soldier, wounded in separate incidents of violence in southern Kandahar province, an official said on Thursday.

Four children have been wounded in a landmine explosion in the Shawalikot district, said Samim Khapalwak, the governor’s spokesman.

The incident happened in Mulla Burjan locality late on Wednesday when the children were playing. The injured children had been evacuated to the hospital, he added.

Separately, one ANA soldier and a civilian were wounded in an explosion on military vehicle in the limits of 10th police district in Kandahar City.

In Marof district, two militants were killed and one wounded during overnight attack on police check-post, said Khapalwak.

He said security officials suffered no causalities in the attack.

Taliban have not commented about recent incidents of violence.

In Daman district, police recovered four to nine kilograms of heroin from vehicle during checking.
