KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): President Ashraf Ghani on Saturday said his government would not let human rights violations go unanswered and justice would be served under any circumstances.

Addressing a gathering “support of human rights defenders” in Kabul, the president said it was Islam’s message that justice should be given a priority.

He said the religion prohibited followers from committing crimes and Islam had assured the oppressed that their cries would not go in waste.

Ghani said the unity government had taken bold steps to protect human rights amid challenges posed by the war imposed on the Afghans.

He said the only way to deliver justice and protect people’s rights was to ensure the supremacy of law and his government had initiated efforts at enforcing law and creating awareness about human rights.

The president said the unity government had been more focused on law implementation during the past one year and all the laws had been framed within the framework of the Constitution and human values.
