KUNDUZ CITY (Pajhwok): A representative of Hindus and Sikhs in northern Kunduz province has been shot dead by unknown gunman, an official said on Thursday.

Col. Masoom Hashimi, the provincial police chief, told Pajhwok Afghan News Hakim Lala Dilsoz was killed by an armed man at around 9am near his home in Kunduz City.

He said three suspects had been so far detained in connection with the murder in the provincial capital, with police trying to arrest the killer.

Prem, uncle of the minority representative, said his nephew had no personal enmity with anyone and had been living in Kunduz City over the past 30 years. Dilsoz survived a gun attack four years back.
