Middle school building completed in Kunar

ASADABAD (Pajhwok): A school building was completed and construction works on a seminary and a bridge kicked off in eastern Kunar province on Sunday, an official said.

Governor Wahidullah Kalimzai told in the work inauguration ceremony of the bridge in Watapur district that the bridge would be 60 meters long and six meters wide.

The facility would be constructed at a cost of 35.5 millions afghanis to be provided by the Ministry of Rural Development (MRD). The project would take one year to complete, he said.

The bridge would facilitate people in Watapur, Manogai and Chapadara districts and Paroon, the capital of Nuristan province and Wama and Want Waigal districts of the neighbouring province, he added.

Meanwhile, Kunar educationinfo-icon director Sayed Jamaludin Hussaini told Pajhwok Afghan News a middle school building was completed at a cost of 10.5 million afghanis in Watapur district.

He said the building, a Word Bank-funded project, had 14 rooms and more 700 students studied in the school.

He also said construction work on a religious school kicked off in Manogai district on Sunday. He said the structure for Shaheed Mirza Mohammad seminary would cost 7.3 million afghanis to be provided by the Ministry of Education.
