Deputy Taliban commander among 9 rebels dead in Kapisa operation

MAHMOOD RAQI (Pajhwok): Nine militants, including Talibaninfo-icon deputy governor for central Kapisa province, have been killed and seven others wounded in security forces artillery shelling, an official said on Monday.

Maj. Sher Aqa Faqiri from 201st Selab Military corps told Pajhwok Afghan News Taliban Deputy Commander Gul Haider was killed in Tagab district.

He said the Ghubar-7 operation was successfully underway in the area.

Separately, the National Directorate of Security (NDSinfo-icon) personnel captured suspected Taliban insurgent with one Kalashnikov and 20 landmines, said a statement from the Spy-Network.

The individual was detained from the Kot village in Mehterlam, the provincial capital.

Taliban have not yet commented about the incidents.
