KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): Dozens of civil societyinfo-icon activists on Wednesday protested against Wolesi Jirgainfo-icon members over not unseating the incumbent senior security bosses.

The protestors in a symbolic move cast ‘a no-confidence vote’ to parliament members.

More than 50 people took part in the demonstration in front of the parliament building.

They were changing slogans ‘disqualify incompetent lawmakers” and “Talibaninfo-icon carry out suicide attacks while parliament members take bribe.” They also chanted “deal has been cut on the blood of martyrs of 400-bed military hospital.”

Sami Darayee, a civil society activist, said: “We are the most unfortunate nation whose parliament representatives play with people’s blood, such MPs never represent us.”

He said the protestors in a symbolic move laced two ballot boxes and cast ‘no confidence vote’ against parliament members. “This parliament is not the house of people but the house of shame” he said.

Mohammad Hasham Haikalzada, another protestor, said recent decisions of the lower house had concerned the people.

The people should take a decision about the current parliament representatives because they could not represent the nation, he added.

“There is no difference between Taliban and current Wolesi Jirga members,” he said.

The demonstrators also presented a resolution letter in which they said the constitutional term of the parliament had ended in June 2015.

“The government is responsible to hold elections in 2017 to pave the ground for implementation of new national programs,” the letter said.

Two days back, Wolesi Jirga or lower house of parliament summoned Defense Minister Gen. Abdullah Habibi, Interior Minister Taj Mohammad Jahid and National Directorate of Security Chief Mohammad Masum Stanikzai.

The three security sector heads were summoned to brief lawmakers about the recent attack on 400-bed Sardar Mohammad Daud Khan Hospital.

However, both the ministers and the spy chief survived the no trust vote as many lawmakers voted in favour of the trio.
