4 intelligence officials killed in Ghazni’s Andar

SHARANA (Pajhwok): Four spy-service members have been killed by Talibaninfo-icon insurgents in the Andar district of southern Ghazni province, officials in the neighboring Paktika province said on Sunday.

Deputy police chief of Paktika, Col. Dadullah Khan Hotak, told Pajhwok Afghan News the National Directorate of Security (NDSinfo-icon) officials were killed in Chahardiwal area of Andar district by Taliban insurgents on Sunday afternoon. He didn’t provide further details.

An official at the civil hospital in Sharana, Paktika’s capital, said they had been delivered four corpses of NDS personnel at the hospital.

Ghazni police chief Gen. Amarkhel said the slain personnel included two Afghan National Army (ANA) service members and as many NDS operatives

The Taliban claimed they had killed six NDS personnel including the provincial deputy intelligence head, Abdul Wahab, and injured seven others.

The incident occurs in the same area where the Taliban killed a senior provincial NDS official last year.
