Some circles out to overthrow the system: Kabuli

Some circles out to overthrow the system: Kabuli

May 02, 2017 - 20:41

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): The Hezb-i-Musharikat Milli (HMM) on Tuesday said 1st Vice-President Gen. Abdul Rashid Dostum, Ahmad Zia Massoud and some other circles “are trying to bring down the current political  system and the government should proactively prevent it.”

However, Gen. Dostum and Ahmad Zia denied the allegations. Najibullah Kabuli, HMM head, told a press conference in Kabul that some elements with the help of Russia, Iran and Pakistaninfo-icon wanted to overthrow the government.

He accused Dostum, Massoud, Latif Pidram, leadership members of the Enlightenment Movement and some others of trying to overthrow the current system. These circles were trying to mobilize and gather people against foreign forces and national security forces and against the system.

Kabuli said: “I also have documents and concrete evidence, and if someone wants, I am ready to prove it in the court.”

He called upon the president, judicial organs and citizens not to let these people move against the national interests based on foreigners’ orders and preempt their attempt to overthrow the regime.

“I seriously demand of the UN Security Council and human rights’ institutions to add the mentioned individuals to their blacklists and freeze their banks accounts and bring them to justice.”

However, Bashir Ahmad Tanij, Dostum’s spokesman, spurned Kabuli’s allegations as lies, saying those who brought development to the country and proved themselves as builders of the system were always hurled at such allegations.

“These words are insulting, lie and accusation and this is not the first time he (Najib Kabuli) is accusing the leaders, he had earlier leveled such allegations.”

According to him, Gen. Dostum had always tried to crush negative phenomena for ensuring security and the government should prevent such irresponsible words from unknown people.

Rahmatullah Bizhanpor, a spokesman and a relative of Ahmad Zia Massoud, former representative of the president for reforms and good governance, also called the claims as baseless.

“Ahmad Zia Massoud and Latif Pidram in their speeches on April 28 criticized the lack of security, people’s distrust in the system, unemployment and economic crisis. Their aim to struggle for a third state was to how we can overcome the current crisis and find an alternative solution.”

He said the government was safe and the aim was demanding change as promised during election campaigns. He said improving the situation required a string of reforms.
