KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): The Zebak district of northeastern Badakhsahan province has been recaptured by Afghan security forces, security officials said on Thursday.

Dawlat Waziri, Ministry of Defense (MoD) spokesman, said the district fell to Talibaninfo-icon insurgents after a group attack on April 28 and then security forces conducted a clearing operation to wrest back the district’s control.

Meanwhile, Gen. Jalal Yafti, Special Forces unit commander, said 35 rebels were killed including six foreigners during two days of the offensive.
