Construction work on Farah clinic gets under way
FARAH CITY (Pajhwok): Construction work on a health centre worth 9.5 million afghanis was launched in the Darabad village of western Farah province on Monday, an official said.
Public Health Director Dr. Abdul Jabbar Shaiq said at the launching ceremony for five-room clinic the government would provide funds for the project that would take four months to complete.
He said currently the clinic was working in a rented building, having a doctor and two midwives. With the construction of new building, the number of doctors and midwives would increase and more facilities will be provided.
Residents of the area are pleased over the project. Habibullah, an area inhabitant, hailed the construction of the clinic and provision of more facilities as an important step.
He told Pajhwok Afghan News due to lack of necessary health facilities in the area, residents were forced to travel about 20 kilometers to Farah City.
