CIA chief, govt leaders confer on military cooperation

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): The US Central Intelligence Agency has discussed multiple issues of bilateral interest with unity government leaders.

Chief Executive Officer Dr. Abdullah Abdullah tweeted on Monday that US spymaster met him and President Ashraf Ghani last week.

He said continued military cooperation between the two countries was the focus of talks. The CEO, however, stopped short of giving further details.

America’s acting assistant secretary for South and Central Asian affairs and acting special representative for Afghanistaninfo-icon and Pakistaninfo-icon Ambassador Alice Wells also met President Ghani.

She also met Abdullah, National Security Advisor Hanif Atmar, acting Foreign Minister Salahuddin Rabbani, and other senior leaders to discuss issues of mutual importance and bilateral cooperation.
