39 bodies recovered from Mirzawalang mass graves

SAR-I-PUL (Pajhwok): Nearly 40 bodies allegedly killed by militants after being abducted have been found in two mass graves in the Mirzawalang locality of northern Sar-i-Pul province.

At least 50 people were killed after Daesh and Talibaninfo-icon stormed the Mirzawalang valley on August 5. Security forces wrested back the area yesterday (Monday).

Security forces recovered the bodies from graves with the help of local people. Most of the corpses had received bullets and some were beheaded.

Syed Ahmad, a religious scholar, told Pajhwok Afghan News the two mass graves contained 26 and 11 bodies respectively and they included the remains of children and womeninfo-icon.

Syed Musa, whose son was among the dead, said his son had been killed mercilessly because for no sin. He said his son never took arm in his entire life.

The Taliban have denied hand in the masscare in Mirzawlang area.
