Bamyan Film Festival to help promote tourism: Governor

BAMYAN CITY (Pajhwok): The first Bamyan Film Festival has been put on display in central Bamyan province in which three films out of many considered top one.

Historical and selective films had been displayed in the festival which was held on Wednesday evening. Civil societyinfo-icon activists, Bamyan governor, secretary information and cultural affair were present on the occasion.

Rahman Alami, the innovator of the Bamyan Film idea, told Pajhwok Afghan News the purpose of the event was to enable the youth to display the hidden stories of this area in picture.

“Forty-one boys and girls took part in two months program in which 26 short movies have been made and displayed in this event,” he said.

Governor Mohammad Zahir Zaheer said Bamyan was the most suitable place for film making in every season, adding introducing Bamyan through movie to the people would be helpful in promotion of tourism.

He said the Bamyan Film Festival would be supported on local, national and international level.
