TIRINKOT (Pajhwok): A landmine explosion killed one policeman and injured a second policeman and two uprising members in the capital of central Uruzgan province on Sunday, an official said.
Provincial deputy police chief, Abdul Qawi Omari, told Pajhwok Afghan News the blast occurred at around 1pm today in Charamgar locality of Tirinkot city, the provincial capital.
He said the roadside bomb ripped through a Humvee vehicle belonging to the Afghan National Civil Order Police (ANCOP) that was supplying water to security check-posts.
Omari said one ANCOP personnel was killed and two public uprising members and a third ANCOP member suffered injuries in the blast. He said the injured were evacuated to hospital and their health condition was said to be stable.
