KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): Abdul Latif Roshan, the Acting Minister for Higher Educationinfo-icon, on Wednesday stepped down from his post, citing personal and political reasons.

Abdul Latif Roshan told Pajhwok Afghan News that he had handed over his resignation letter to President Ashraf Ghani due to personal and political reasons.

He did not go into the details of his reasons. “I don’t want to be (a) victim of rumors,” he said.

He added that he will continue his academic services as an Afghan academic cadre.

Roshan also said that he had achieved many gains during his tenure as the acting minister that he would disclose soon.

Roshan was appointed as the Acting Minister of Higher Education on June 22 this year through a Presidential Order.

Meanwhile, twelve minister-designates are also scheduled to be introduced to the Wolesi Jirgainfo-icon this Saturday (November 25) for a confidence vote.

TheAdministrative Office of the President (AOP) has also conducted an online survey for the appointment of the nominated ministers.
