Work on municipality-funded walkways launched in Jalalabad

JALALABAD (Pajhwok): Work on a footpath project accounting for millions of afghanis has been launched in Jalalabad, the capital of eastern Nangarhar province, an official said on Thursday. 

The 38 million afs sidewalk project was being funded by the Jalalabad Municipality, the governor’s spokesman, Attaullah Khogyani, told Pajhwok Afghan News.

Acting Mayor Eng. Hakimuddin Omarkhel said technical teams of the municipality were supervising the construction of about 20,000 square metres walkways.

The scheme would be completed in the near future, Omarkhel said, promising that similar footpaths would be constructed in several other areas as well.
