KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): President Ashraf Ghani, accepting Atta Mohammad Noor’s resignation, has appointed Mohammad Dawood as new governor of northern Balkh province.

A statement from the Presidential Palace said that Noor had tendered his resignation. A leader of the Jamiat-i-Islamiinfo-icon Afghanistaninfo-icon, he had been appointed as Balkh governor in 2004.

Eng. Mohammad Dawood, who also belongs to the Jamiat-i-Islami Afghanistan, was borne in 1954 in Balkh.

He completed his primary and high educationinfo-icon in Balkh receiving higher oil and gas extraction education in England. He can fluently speak Dari, Pashtoinfo-icon, English and Russian.
