75 female ANA officers complete training in Turkey

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): As many as 75 female commissioned officers of the Afghan National Army (ANA) have completed a military training course in Turkey.

The officers were awarded certificates at a graduation ceremony at the Third Infantry Training Brigade in Turkey's southern Antalya province on Friday.

According to the Sabah newspaper, the officers completed a nine-week training programme on personnel management, human resources, finance and logistics.

Muhammad Ashiq Gharib, a security advisor to Afghanistaninfo-icon’s High Peace Councilinfo-icon, thanked the Turkish Armed Forces for training the ANA personnel.

He said: “Turkish Armed Forces have been giving great support to our army. We have sent female commissioned officers [to Turkey] because we have full confidence in Turkey.”

In 2016, Turkey had trained female Afghan police cadets. Since 2011, more than 2,600 Afghan policemen and womeninfo-icon have been trained at the Turkish police academy.
