75 female ANA officers complete training in Turkey
KABUL (Pajhwok): As many as 75 female commissioned officers of the Afghan National Army (ANA) have completed a military training course in Turkey.
The officers were awarded certificates at a graduation ceremony at the Third Infantry Training Brigade in Turkey's southern Antalya province on Friday.
According to the Sabah newspaper, the officers completed a nine-week training programme on personnel management, human resources, finance and logistics.
Muhammad Ashiq Gharib, a security advisor to Afghanistan’s High Peace Council
, thanked the Turkish Armed Forces for training the ANA personnel.
He said: “Turkish Armed Forces have been giving great support to our army. We have sent female commissioned officers [to Turkey] because we have full confidence in Turkey.”
In 2016, Turkey had trained female Afghan police cadets. Since 2011, more than 2,600 Afghan policemen and women have been trained at the Turkish police academy.
