3 dead, over 50 hurt in Nimroz bus-truck collision

ZARANG CITY (Pajhwok): At least three people were killed and another 58 wounded in a traffic accident in the Delaram district of southwestern Nimroz province on Tuesday, an official said.

The town administrative chief Najibullah Hayat told Pajhwok Afghan News the incident occurred when a 303 model passenger bus collided with a cargo truck at around 3pm.

At least three people were killed -- the bus driver, one woman, and one man -- and about 50 others wounded, including children and womeninfo-icon.

He said the wounded passengers having critical healthinfo-icon condition were rushed to public clinics in neighboring Helmand province’s Shorabak locality.

Ghulam Mohammad Omari, the provincial police spokesman, said: “The passenger bus en route to Nimroz province from Kabulinfo-icon first hit a motorcycle and then rammed into a parked truck.” However, he put the number of those injured at 58.
