Trump admin urged to act against Haqqani network

WASHINGTON (Pajhwok): Condemning the Kabulinfo-icon terrorist attack, the US-based Free Karachi Campaign has urged the Trump administration to take action against the Haqqani networkinfo-icon operating in Pakistaninfo-icon.

The Talibaninfo-icon claimed responsibility for the attack that killed 22 people, including 14 nationals. The attack has been condemned by countries across the globe.

“Pakistan’s military establishment and intelligence agency ISIinfo-icon have waged a proxy war on Afghanistaninfo-icon by using its assets -- Haqqani network and Taliban factions,” said a spokesperson for the Free Karachi Campaign.

In a statement, Nadeem Nusrat stressed: “The US administration must take immediate action against terror groups operating on its soil and responsible for destabilising Afghanistan and the region.”

Offering condolences to President Ashraf Ghani and the people of Afghanistan, Nusrat said the people of Karachi stood shoulder to shoulder with Afghan brothers and sisters and offered them complete support.
