FAIZABAD (Pajhwok): At least six Tajik rebels have been killed as result of airstrikes in the Warduj district of northeastern Badakhshan province, local security officials said on Monday.
Deputy Police Chief Syed Jahangir Karamat told Pajhwok Afghan News that air forces have targeted the hideout of the insurgents in Chakiran and Ab-Jal villages of the district late on Sunday night.
He added, as result of airstrike six militants hailing of Takistan were killed. One Humvee tank, machine gun and their bunker was destroyed in airstrike, he added.
According to the provincial official during the last two weeks at least 19 rebels had been killed and their sanctuaries destroyed.
