‘21 new mosques constructed, over 20 rehabilitated in Nangarhar’

JALALABAD (Pajhwok): Twenty-one mosques have been constructed and 22 others rehabilitated during the ongoing solar yearinfo-icon with the technical support of Hajjinfo-icon and Religious Affairs Department and Urban Affairs Department’s in eastern Nangarhar province, an official has said.

Governor Mohammad Gulab Mangal expressed the view at a gathering marking the inauguration of newly build mosques on Thursday.

Mangal inaugurated the Bai Negha Mosqueinfo-icon in Behsud district and added the project was completed at the cost of 69 million afghanis.

He said these mosques had been constructed and rehabilitated during one year and around 10,000 people had been provided the opportunity to worship.

Hajj and Religious Affairs Director Maulviinfo-icon Abdul Zahir Haqqani said 21 new mosques had been constructed in different districts of Nangarhar at the cost of 65 million afghanis while 22 other had been rehabilitated at the cost of four million afghanis.

He pledged to construct more mosques in the future and asked people to pray in the newly built mosques and send their children there for religious educationinfo-icon.
