Dubbing people with bad names have negative impact: Experts

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): Some psychologists have said the use of disgraceful names for others was a practice against the teaching of Islamic and had left negative impact over individual and social relationship.

Psychological illness, decline in inter-personal and social relationship, loss of confidence on oneself and individual disappointment were the other negative results of calling others with funny names, according to experts.

Calling others with bad names have become tradition in Schools, Universities and other social places besides homes and people who name others with disgraceful titles considered they superior and more confidant on others.

Religious scholars believed that Islam has forbidden every title that even involved small meaning of disgrace and insult.

Mubashir Muslimyar, Islamic affairs expert and university teacher, said character comprised a large part of human life and Islam had stressed over it. Prophet Peace Be Upon Him (PBUH) introduced moral as standard for faith and said: “He who have the best character possessed the best faith.”

In the holey Quraninfo-icon character is directly connected with faith and in different verses the best character had been emphasized. In Surrah Hujaran calling wrong and disgraceful names had been strictly avoided.

Muslaimyar said the issue was triggered due to ignorance in societyinfo-icon: “The main problem is that people have been unaware from the fact the naming others with bad name was prohibited and if they know the fact that prophet has warned people that they be sent to hell by narrating one word or to paradise by saying one word and if they know that whatever they say was being recorded so they will not use bad names for others.”

Sharafuddin Azemi, psychiatrist and university teacher, said every sentence even if meant love had its impact.

He added individual who struggle with anger, violent behavior, have negative feeling and are shortsighted call others with bad names.

He said the use of disgraceful names to others caused misunderstanding, disputes and differences besides other dangers problems such as damage to of intern-personal relationship, disappointment, lack of confident and others.   

Naseer Faizi, one of the photographer and journalists, who appeared with different hear style in the society, said: “People teased me due to my different hear style they dubbed different names on me like jungle hear, disorder hear and others.”

He said: “Initially it was difficult for me but with the passage of time I got accustomed. All watched me like cinema and I tried to ignore things.”

Mohammad Nasir Habibi, psychologist and university teacher, feeling to disgrace others, unhealthy competition, biasness and other similar things was the source of naming others with disgracing titles.

In order to get out of the issue, he suggest strict measure by families to stop calling bad names and terming the act a crime in society.
