MAIMANA (Pajhwok): Five members of an uprising were killed and six other, including a key commander, wounded in northern Faryab province on Tuesday, a public representative said.
Provincial council chairman Mohammad Tahir Rahmani told Pajhwok Afghan News three uprising members, including two sons of commander Haji Hassamuddin, were killed in Khawja Sabzposh district.
Four other, including Hassamuddin, were wounded in in the early morning, he said.
Separately, he added, two other uprising members were killed and as many wounded in Pashtoonkot and Almar districts.
Hashim Bator Qate, the Khawja Subzposh’s district police chief, confirmed the incident. Two nephews of Commander Hassam -- Khalid Baik and Farid Baik -- were killed and four others on the Taliban ambush.
