KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): The Hezb-i-Islamiinfo-icon Afghanistaninfo-icon (HIA) has supported the decision on handing over the management of Afghan-Turk schools in Afghanistan to the Turkish government.

Ties between the two countries would get stronger as a result of the decision, hoped the party, led by ex-prime minister and jihadi commander Gulbadin Hekmatyar.

The management of Afghan-Turk schools in Afghanistan was handed over from the Afghan-Turk CAG Educational NGO (ATCE) to the Turkish government on Monday.

In a statement, HIA hailed the handing over of the Afghan-Turk schools to the Turkish government as a vital step. The party said it stoutly supported the measure.

The group believed the step would help improve the standard and quality of educationinfo-icon and on the other hand and strengthen relations between the two countries on the other.

HIA praised Turkey as a great friend of Afghanistan and its position would always be appreciated.

On Monday, some parents of Afghan-Turk school students staged a protest against the handing over of the management of the schools to the Turkish government.

They claimed there were some circles within the system that wanted to damage affairs to the Afghan-Turk schools but they would not leave them succeed.

The handover comes after a Dec 12, 2017 raid by National Directorate of Security (NDSinfo-icon) forces on an Afghan-Turk school in Kabul, arresting four teachers, including an Afghan.
