KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): Two Australian security contractors were among 22 people injured in a car bombing in Kabul on Friday, a media report said on Saturday.

A news channel quoted Foreign Minister Julie Bishop as saying two Australians suffered minor injuries in the explosion. "Our hearts and thoughts go to the families of those injured."

At least one person was killed and 22 others wounded in the suicide bombing near vehicles belonging to foreign workers in the eastern part of the city.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the explosion -- the latest in a spate of deadly attacks carried out by the Talibaninfo-icon and the Islamic State.

Friday’s blast came two days after President Ashraf Ghani offered open-ended talks and recognition to the Taliban as a legitimate political force.
