China promises continued assistance to Afghan IDPs

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): Beijing has offered assistance to internally displaced persons (IDPs) at a camp in Kabul, a Chinese media outlet reported on Saturday.

Chinese Ambassador Liu Jingsong on Friday met representatives of IDPs and discussed with them ways of delivering aid to the affected families.

According to Xinhua, the Chinese Embassy donated chairs, tables, computer desks, aluminum alloy doors, windows and radios to Char Rah-i-Qambar Camp inmates on Thursday.

At Friday’s meeting, Liu promised China’s continued contribution to the rebuilding process and economic development of Afghanistaninfo-icon.

"We appreciate Chinese assistance to the Afghans. We received materials provided by Chinese friends yesterday and the items will help our children read and write and get better educationinfo-icon," a teacher at the camp, Juma Khan, was quoted as saying.
