38 public universities to have internet in 2 years

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): Thirty-eight state-run universities in capital Kabul and provinces would get access to permanent internet facility within next two years, an official said on Monday.

An agreement to the effect was signed between the Ministry of Telecommunication and Information Technology (MoCIT) and the Ministry of Higher Educationinfo-icon (MoHE) in Kabul.

The provision of internet to universities would help students and teachers in their studies and research which would bolster their academic capacities, said Ahmad Seyar Mahjor, MoHE finance secretary.

Naqibullah selab, deputy administration secretary at MoCIT, said the ministry had planned programs for capacity building and enhancement of academic level of educational institutes in the country.

He added projects related to education and healthinfo-icon had been prioritized and the provision of internet facility was part of their priority based programs.
