TIRINKOT (Pajhwok): A woman was killed and three policemen were injured as the cops turned guns on each other after a verbal clash in Chora district of central Uruzgan province, a public representative said on Friday.
The woman was inside her home in the district center when she was hit by bullets fired during the police infighting, provincial council head Amir Khan Barakzai told Pajhwok Afghan News. He said the incident took place on Thursday.
Chora district chief Aminullah Khaliqi confirmed the incident and said the clash was between local and national police personnel. He said a woman was killed inside her home and one policeman was injured in the incident.
Those involved in the shootout had been arrested, the district chief said.
