FARAH CITY (Pajhwok): At least seven security personnel have been killed and seven others wounded in a Talibaninfo-icon attack in the capital of western Farah province, an official said on Wednesday.

Jamila Amini, a provincial council member, told Pajhwok Afghan News the militants stormed a police check-post in Dehk-i-Huma village of Farah City at around midnight.

She said four intelligence agents and three policemen were killed and seven other wounded in the attack. The militants also suffered casualties and the body of one insurgent lay at the site of the clash.

A resident of the area, who did not want to be named, claimed the post was overrun and weapons and ammunition captured by the rebels. Two militants were also killed, he said.
