He said half of the money was provided by farmers and the remaining half by the Worldinfo-icon Bank (WB). A total of 14,000 fruit saplings were planted, according to Museni.

Pistachio seedlings were planted on above 167.5 acres of land, grapes on 164 acres, apples on 131.5 acres, cherry on 19 acres, peach on 17 acres, apricot on 23.5 acres and pears on 10 acres.

Farmers are happy over the establishment of fruit orchards on their lands.
