KANDAHAR (Pajhwok): The deputy governor on Thursday inaugurated an all-womeninfo-icon trade center built by a businesswoman in the capital of southern Kandahar province.

Deputy governor Abdul Hanan Munib, who inaugurated the market building named “Afghan Sisters Market” in Kandahar City, said the government was trying to improve women’s economic situation and pave the ground for their development.

He assured of cooperation on the part of the provincial government with the women exclusive market and hoped the facility would also help find market for women’s handicrafts.

Laila Afaq, the market’s owner, said the trade center besides having all needed things for women’s businesses also had a sewing center, a dining hall and a mosqueinfo-icon. She said the building cost $120,000.
