KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): Gulbuddin Hekmatyar-led Hezb-i-Islamiinfo-icon Afghanistaninfo-icon (HIA) on Thursday strongly condemned a barrage of missile attacks against Saudi Arabia by Yemen’s Houthi group.

Saudi forces said they shot down three missiles over Riyadh shortly before midnight on Sunday. Debris fell on a home in the capital, killing an Egyptian man and wounding two others.

The Saudis said air defenses also repelled missiles fired at the southern Saudi cities of Najran, Jizan and Khamis Mushait.

The HIA in a statement received by Pajhwok Afghan News said they strongly denounced the Yemeni missile strikes into the kingdom.

The party security and defense of the Islam’s holiest Mosques was prime responsibility of every Muslim and the HIA would always stand by the Saudi government.

The HIA party accused Iran of having “nefarious designs” and of converting Iraq, Syria, Lebanon and Yemen into rubble to achieve its goals and now the country was threatening the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Iran provided every kind of logistic support, including ballistic missiles, to the Houthi rebels in Yemen so they could fire them on Saudi Arabia.

A similar incident on March 25 hit civilians and the recent ballistic missile attack had also resulted in casualties to innocent people.

“We again strongly condemn such attacks and ask the international community to stop Iran’s aggressive and expansionism approach in the region.”

The party urged the worldinfo-icon not to allow Tehran to create more problems for other Islamic countries and harm the stability of Saudi Arabia.

The Foreign Ministry of Afghanistan has already condemned the attack.
