HERAT CITY (Pajhwok): Two policemen and four civilians have managed to escape from Talibaninfo-icon insurgents’ custody after killing two militants in western Herat province, an official said on Saturday.

Abdul Ahad Walizad, the governor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News that the Taliban had kidnapped the two police personnel along with four residents of Chishti Sharif district late on Friday night.

When the militants were transferring the captives from one place to another, the policemen attacked the rebel guards and killed two of them before making their escape good.

The policemen had also seized two Kalashnikovs from their captors who wanted to sentence them through a kangaroo court, Walizada said.
