UN welcomes increased Af-Pak cooperation

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): A senior UN official has welcomed the Kabul-Islamabad agreement on enhanced cooperation through the implementation of the Afghanistaninfo-icon-Pakistaninfo-icon Action Plan for Peace and Solidarity (APAPPS).

UN Assistant Secretary-General for Political Affairs Miroslav Jenca stressed the importance of the positive momentum for the further advancement of the Afghan-led peace and reconciliation process.

At talks with top Pakistani officials during a visit to Pakistan, which ended on April 13, the diplomat commended Pakistan's generosity in hosting Afghan refugees.

In a statement, Jenca hailed Pakistan's contribution to UN peacekeeping as one of leading troop-contributing countries. H also thanked Pakistan for its close cooperation with UN Country Team.
