China to treat 25 Afghan children with heart diseases

Apr 17, 2018 - 19:30

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): Afghan Red Crescent Societyinfo-icon (ARCS) on Tuesday said China will provide free medical treatment for 25 Afghan children with congenital heart diseases (CHD).

Nilab Mubariz, secretary ARCS told a press conference here that eight boys and 17 girls aged between 10 to 12 years would be sent to China for their medical treatment.

She said that the children would be accompanied each by one attendee. These children would be treated with the financial aid of Red Cross Society of China (RCSC). This is the second group of children to be sent to China for treatment.

Nilab said that 54 other children whose diseases have confirmed by a 19-member of RCSC would be also sent to China during current year.

She said that 21 children had received treatment in China last year and returned home after successful surgeries.

The ARCS has provided treatment service to around 7,000 children with heart diseases inside and outside the country since 2009, she added, saying 6,000 other children with similar diseases waiting for their treatment would be provided with the organization’s service.

She asked well-wishers to contribute to ARCS for treatment of children suffering from heart diseases.

Sun Shuopeng, China ambassador to Afghanistaninfo-icon said, “All countries should cooperate in providing treatment service of 6,000 Afghan children with heart diseases who are waiting for their healing,”
