GHAZNI CITY (Pajhwok): Police have detained two colleagues over allegedly planning an insider’s attack on a post in the Andar district of southern Ghazni province.

The two policemen were allegedly in contact with the Talibaninfo-icon to plot the attack against 300,000 Pakistani rupees, Ghazni police chief Brig. Gen. Mohammad Zaman told reporters here.

He identified the detainees as Abdul Mateen and Sayed Wali who performed duty at the police post in Andar district. The duo had accepted the money from the Taliban to kill all policemen in the post.

The detainees confessed to their crime before media representatives.

Abdul Mateen said his brother was a Taliban commander in eastern Laghman province.

“My brother told me he had talked to Andar Taliban and they would come in night to kill all police in the post and seize their weapons.”

A few days back, three policemen were arrested over similar charges in Qarabagh district.
