Key Daesh commander killed in Kunar raid

ASADABD (Pajhwok): A key Daesh or so-called Islamic state (IS) commander has been killed by security forces during a clearing operation in Chapa Dara district of eastern Kunar province, police said Tuesday.

Police spokesman Farid Dehqan told Pajhwok Afghan News the operation was conducted in Saidor village of the district late Monday night.

He said Daesh commander Qari Zahid known as Perai was killed and his dead body remained on the battle ground.

The security forces who escaped unharmed during the nighttime operation also confiscated weapons from the scene, he concluded.

Daesh group has so far not commented about the killing of their commander in Chapa Dara district.
