Quick-arm action a plus point for me: Khan

Quick-arm action a plus point for me: Khan

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): Afghanistaninfo-icon’s internationally-acclaimed leg-spinner Rashid Khan views quick-arm action as a plus point him

Ranked No. 1 in T20 cricket, the 19-year-old from Nangarhar province has set down his success to his bowling action.

In an interview on the International Cricket Council (ICC) website, Khan said his action was different from that of other leg-spinners.

A leading bowler for Afghanistan in 50-over and 20-over cricket, he is a star for most of the T20 franchises he plays for.

Representing Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League 2018, the wrist-spinners has been a major attraction for many teams.

“I think the main thing is that my action is a little bit different from other leg-spinners. My quick-arm action makes it difficult to judge which way it (the ball) is going.

“That's a plus point for me. I am taking advantage of that and it's helping me,” said the teenage sensation the day he took 2/11 in four overs to give Hyderabad a 31-run win.

After claiming three wickets in his first three games, Khan went for 55 and 49 runs in the next two encounters.

“You cannot learn until you're hit for runs in T20 cricket. It's cricket, and these kinds of things keep happening. There are a lot of things that I learnt from this.

“Giving 55 and 48 in two games wasn't expected of me. But for my future, it was good. I learned from that what I should have done that time.”
