6 soldiers killed in attack on voter registration centre

QALA-I-NAW (Pajhwok): Six Afghan National Army (ANA) soldiers have been killed and six others wounded as a result of an attack on a voter registration centre in northwestern Badghis province, an official said on Wednesday.

Abdul Aziz Baik, a member of the provincial council, told Pajhwok Afghan News that the militants attacked the voter center in the Laman area of Qala-i-Naw late on Tuesday midnight.

The Talibaninfo-icon also said their fighters stormed two ANA check-posts near the voter registration site. Seven soldiers were killed, two wounded and one captured alive, the militant movement claimed.

Pajhwok tried to contact provincial corps officials for commented but failed.

About 103 people have been killed and 173 others wounded during attacks on voter registration centres in Badghis, Nangarhar, Ghorinfo-icon, Samangan, Khost, Logar and Kabulinfo-icon province so far.

The deadliest attack happened in the Dasht-i-Barchi area of Kabul, where 57 people including womeninfo-icon and children were killed and 119 others wounded.
