KHOST CITY (Pajhwok): Suspected killers of BBC reporter Ahmad Shah have been detained and will be referred soon to judicial organs, an official said on Thursday.

Governor Hukam Khan Habibi, addressing a public awareness event about parliamentary elections, said Shah’s murderers had been arrested after hectic efforts.

Without going into details, the governor said the detainees’ cases would be sent to security organs after initial investigations.

Shah, who had been working as BBC reporter in the southeastern region, was gunned down by armed motorcyclists on his way home in Khost City.

Four days ago, 17 people were killed and 36 others wounded during an attack on a mosqueinfo-icon used as a voter registration centre in the Yaqubi district of Khost.
