PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): Pakistaninfo-icon wants the Trump administration and the Western worldinfo-icon to play a positive role in maintaining security in the South Asian region.

National Security Advisor Nasser Khan Janjua said: “Afghanistaninfo-icon is a story of pains. It is a story of injuries. It is a wound of the world and the region which should be healed as quickly as possible.”

Addressing an international conference in Islamabad on Sunday, he said investment had been made in winning the Afghan war. “Unfortunately, we have not invested in winning peace.”

Innocent Afghans and Pakistanis had been suffering since the Soviet occupation of Kabulinfo-icon in 1979, he remarked. Peace was the only way forward, the advisor stressed.

The post-9/11 Pakistan stood with the international community, not with those who attacked the US, Janjua explained. He spurned US allegations that Pakistan was aiding militants.

Thee NSA continued: “The Talibaninfo-icon accuse us of supporting the US and vice versa. So both are blaming us, who’s right?”
